There is a 99.6% conviction rate (Source) and extremely broad latitude for the Justice Department, working in lockstep with Federal Judges, to overcharge (so it’s impossible to beat every charge at trial) and impose harsh sentences based on ridiculous “enhancements.”
In Mike’s case, a $0 wire fraud charge, which typically has a probationary sentence, turned into a 45-Month prison sentence, due to an extreme “loss” enhancement enacted by the DOJ and judge for political reasons. This is not justice!
